A2: Building Typology
WHICH BUILDING TYPOLOGY YOU ARE RESEARCHING?
Art Performance Center/Dance Center/Event Center
WHY ARE YOU RESEARCHING THIS BUILDING TYPOLOGY?
When I went to Paris, I visit a
place Studio 104, which is an art space and community center. I was impressed
by the life that the place had. Everyone express themselves freely. Their
bodies were instruments with which the express art. The urban atmosphere of
Studio 104 was full of energy and movement, which reflect the soul Paris
streets in one place. I would like to create a space in which the urban feeling
of Red Hook is kept while providing a space in which people could express
freely and get together creating a healthy community atmosphere.
WHAT IS THE SPECIALTY OF THIS BUILDING TYPE YOU WOULD LIKE TO
RESEARCH I.E. MUSEUM FOR DANCE, SCHOOL FOR DIGITAL MEDIA…
I would like to research in depth
about dance studios, event spaces, arts performances program and
auditoriums/public theater.
WHAT ARE YOU GOALS FOR WORKING WITH THIS BUILDING TYPE?
My goals is to encounter the
perfect recipe to blend urban community in space in which they can express
freely and share with the community.
WHAT ARE THE PROGRAM ELEMENTS THAT YOU SEE INCLUDED AT THIS POINT
IN YOUR BUILDING?
(may evolve once more research is done)
I
would be including a small
auditorium, dance studios, warm
lobby and two event spaces (indoor and
outdoor)

A1: Site Analysis
Hi everyone,
The site 3, which is located in 300 Coffey Street, has a great potential that most be used. The site that I have chosen is the site 3 because I like the potential views of the site. Besides, nearly 50% of the site is surrounded by water, which gives the chance of enjoying the breeze of the Hudson River. Also, having a park, open space, next to the site allows the pedestrians to enjoy my future project for different points of views.
